In 20th Century, Composers by Vogler & LindqvistLeave a Comment

The composer and pianist Gunnar de Frumerie (1908-1987) is considered one of the swedish neoclassicists. He studied in Stockholm, with von Sauer in Vienna and Cortot and Sabanejev in Paris. Maybe his most popular works are his art songs, but he also wrote lots of chamber music, some symphonic work and an opera called „Singoalla“.He worked as a professor for the piano at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and was a member of the Swedish Royal Academy of Music. I love the way he always uses excellent and beautiful texts for his songs.
